One Heart Church Bali is the new international church in Bali led by Adrian & Joanna Murley. This is also a first as it is partnership under the covering of both CityLife Church Melbourne and Abbalove Church. It also sees a new vision for what God is doing in Bali coming out of what can only be described as “God appointed” moments and events.
The church is made up of a blend of expats from all over the world and local Indonesian people. The blend of people coming from many different backgrounds and experiences combining in one place. This has its challenges but it also has an amazing cultural spread that adds diversity, life and vibrancy.
Located at Novotel Nusa Dua, One Heart Church officially launched in the first weekend of 2018, since then the congregation has grown from 22 people to over 50 in just a few months. There is great excitement and expectation that God is doing something new. Two Life Groups, a fortnightly women’s bible study and a men’s meeting have already started. Many people within this young congregation are already volunteering in kids, hospitality and music.
One Heart Church is committed to the family and even though we are new and small, that is not a limitation. Many of our people are involved in various ministries mid-week throughout Bali and we as a church are already planning a missions trip this year to other parts of Indonesia. We are also looking into ways to reach other expat communities in Bali by thinking ahead to how we can take One Heart Church out of the four walls and into these communities.
As a new but growing church, our biggest challenge is getting everything in place to support our people and ensure we can walk along side them through any challenges they may have. This includes getting more Life Groups established, training up and running Life Tracks International plus working towards a team of people who can assist Jo and I in the day to day running of the church by empowering them to lead ministries within One Heart.
One of the greatest joy’s we have had is having many CityLife people visit us in the short time we have been running. This is a huge encouragement for us and we hope it has been for them too. Maybe you should consider coming to visit us this year. Bali is a great place for a holiday but we can also show you it’s an amazing place that God is moving in and wanting to do something new. There are so many things that still need to be done and with the growth of One Heart Church, we feel that this is the start of something significant. Rather than just reading the story of what is happening here, why not come and be part of it. Maybe even stay a little longer and see what God does!
